Matsudo campus, where the university and the junior
college division are located, is an educational space
with both functionality and artistry. The campus
consists of 8 buildings and the Kawanami Memorial Hall.
We have fulfilling training and research facilities
proper for professional research held in various
departments and majors in our university and junior
college division. Building No.7, Building No.8 and the
Kawanami Memorial Hall especially symbolize Seitoku
Gakuen, the school that continues to pursue the
essential qualities of education for women.
Building No.7,
completed in 1980, is a functional, safe building that
possesses the latest facilities and systems. It is hard
to feel oldness from the building, although 20 years
have passed since its completion. There are 3 lecture
halls (gentle lecture theaters), the rooms on the first
and the second floor accommodate 578 students, and the
room on the third floor accommodates 1,000 students, in
addition to 31 regular classrooms. We take pride in our
top-class soundproof piano facilities, where there are
155 private practice rooms (there are also 105 pianos
equipped with silencers) on the seventh floor, and 20
lesson rooms (9 grand pianos, 20 upright pianos) on the
eighth floor.
Building No.8 is
called “Crystal Hall” from the fact that the walls are
covered with glass. The building includes facilities
for the students to enjoy school life, such as
laboratories for the graduate school, “Seitoku Gakuen
Foundation Memorial Hall,” which tells the students how
our founder, Kojun Kawanami put his heart into childhood
education and education for women, a library, and
student cafeteria.
Kawanami Memorial
Hall was established as an annex to Building No.7, and
it seats 1,500 people. The Hall can be used for
multiple purposes. |

■ Seitoku University Kindergarten Teacher Training

Seitoku University Kindergarten Teacher Training
College, with its former school, Seitoku Gakuen
Kindergarten Teacher Training School founded in 1944,
has been sending more that 12,000 child educators to the
Japanese childhood education world for more than half a
century. By fostering child educators of high quality,
our school has been highly valued as “Seitoku for
childhood education.” This is also an outcome of
practicing education for human development based on our
founding spirit of “harmony,” and we take pride in our
high employment rate. In addition, the school is
located in an ideal education environment, on the same
campus as Seitoku Gakuen Mita Kindergarten, which
enables the students to naturally learn how to relate
with children. The campus is also located in the center
of Tokyo, where transportation is convenient. |
